A series of self-portraits made in the years since my father's death in 2019. We were close, and we loved each other. But there was distance too, and things that were never said between us. These photographs are an attempt to look at what remains now he is gone, and what I carry forward. He has recently come back into my life through a strange quirk of circumstance, and I am left with mementos, old photographs, and questions which in some way are being answered through this project.
Me looking at Dad's military photograph that he gave me, alongside his medals.
Dad liked this photograph, of him looking away into the distance. This photograph (along with many others) were given to me recently. They brought back a lot of memories.
These medals were part of him.
Me and my father. There's still a silence there, but this time it's different.
